Plexr Plasma Treatment

Plexr Plus Plasma Pen works by utilising a small electrical charge known as a plasma flash.

This process works by dissolving the top layer of the skin without damaging surrounding tissue (known as sublimation).

Skin tags

Skin tags are harmless. They are a benign (non-cancerous) growth formed when clusters of collagen and blood vessels are trapped within the skin.

Most often they are skin coloured and are rounded or cylindrical in shape. Over time they can turn brown and reddish in colour.

Skin tags are often found in folds and creases in the skin, particularly where there is friction. Common areas skin tags form is on the neck, underarms, eyelids, breasts, groin and face.

Men and women can develop them and they are more common in adults who suffer from hormonal changes (such as pregnancy). Plasma pen works by cauterising the skin tag and removing it instantly. As a result, the skin will scab at the site of where it was attached.

Allow 7 to 10 days for the healing process.

Seborrheic keratosis

A seborrheic keratosis is a common noncancerous (benign) skin growth, usually brown, black or light tan in colour.

The growths (lesions) look waxy or scaly and slightly raised. They appear gradually, usually on the face, neck, chest or back.

Seborrheic keratosis’ are harmless and not contagious. People tend to get more of them as they get older. They don’t need treatment, but you may decide to have them removed if they become irritated by clothing or you don’t like how they look.

We require a full skin check from as skin specialist before we treat any skin lesions.

Xanthelasmas

Xanthelasma is a defined yellowish deposit of cholesterol underneath the skin. It usually occurs on or around the eyelids.

While they are neither harmful to the skin nor painful, these minor growths can be removed with plasma technology. As a result, the skin will develop a scab at the surface.

Allow 7 to 10 days for the healing process. As the skin on the eyelid is delicate there is a chance of mild swelling in the area, allow 24 to 48 hours for swelling to reduce.

Warts

Warts are infections in the skin caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV).

There are many different types of warts, which include common warts, plantar warts and flat warts.

At Laser Hair & Skin Clinic we use plasma pen to treat common warts. A common wart is small, raised bump. The wart may have a rough or smooth surface. Warts can occur singly or in clusters. As a result, the skin will scab at the site of where the wart was attached.

Allow 7 to 10 days for the healing process.

Milia

Milia are small, dome-shaped bumps found on the skin and are usually white or yellow.

However, they may cause discomfort for some people. Milia are typically found on the face, lips, eyelids and cheeks. Plasma pen will dissolve the top layer of the skin allowing the milia to be removed. As a result, the skin will scab at the site of where the milia had formed.

Allow 7 to 10 days for the healing process.
